I am a licensed psychologist in The Biltmore Area of Central Phoenix, on Campbell Road (between Camelback and Indian School Roads) on 22nd Street. The office is conveniently located off Highways 51, 202 and 10. I offer services primarily to adults within day appointment times. I do not offer evening or weekend appointment times.
I am a Board Certified Psychologist in Clinical Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology, which is the highest credential signifying competence that can be earned by a professional psychologist.
My approach to therapy is primarily cognitive behavioral, with an emphasis on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). By changing the way we look at situations, even when we are unable to change problematic situations, we can alter the way we perceive and believe. This in turn can impact our well-being and mental health in positive ways by bringing about changes in mood, behavior and strengthening our belief that we can weather changes and tough times. I also rely heavily on behavioral techniques, as “doing” and taking action can also lead to change. Areas of interest and expertise include treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, anger management, surviving and recovering from trauma, managing impulses, coping with major mental illness, adjusting to life changes, dealing with grief and loss issues, and focusing on health-related and medical concerns including compliance with medical regimens, eating disorders and weight issues, pain management and smoking cessation.
SERVICES OFFERED INCLUDE:
- Individual therapy services
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) services
